During this period, Anutin will lead a caretaker government with limited powers, unable to approve a new budget. U.S. President Donald Trump has once again intervened, threatening to impose tariffs on Thai exports if Thailand fails to comply with his peacemaking efforts. Trump has expressed confidence in his ability to broker a ceasefire, stating he expects to speak with both Thai and Cambodian leaders this week.
