Attention all sports enthusiasts and eventing fans! We have some exciting news to share about the updated FEI Education Systems for Eventing and Driving, including Para Driving. Get ready for some changes that will impact officials and enthusiasts alike!
The Big News:
As of November 28, 2025, the updated Education Systems for Eventing and Driving are now live on inside.fei.org. But here's where it gets controversial... these updates aren't just for Eventing and Driving; Jumping, Dressage, Para Dressage, Vaulting, Endurance, and even Veterinary disciplines have all received recent updates too! All these changes will take effect on December 1, 2025, so mark your calendars.
Why the Updates?
The Officials Working Group recommended these changes, which were then approved by the FEI Board on June 18, 2025. The main goal? To ensure officials stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and skills.
Key Updates:
- CES Maintenance Requirements: If you don't pass or attempt the CES Online Assessment or CES Maintenance Course, you'll be placed in an inactive status for one year until you pass.
- CES Officiating Review:
- Level 1: No review needed.
- Level 2: You must have at least one officiating assignment in the past three years. If not, your function will be transferred down.
- Levels 3 and 4: The existing criteria will be reviewed to reduce the burden while maintaining relevance. From 2028 onwards, two assignments are recommended.
Application Date:
These changes will be applied on December 15, 2026.
We encourage you to share this information with officials in your country. For any questions or clarifications, reach out to the respective Discipline/Veterinary & Equine Welfare Department.
