"We were fortunate to have regular meals, but for some, stealing was the only way to eat. It's a harsh reality that inspired me to take action," Solomon explains. And take action he did, using his earnings from a youth worker job to establish this much-needed charity.
Feeding the Community, One Meal at a Time
Each month, the charity prepares and serves an impressive 7,000 meals, a testament to the ongoing need in the community. On December 21st, volunteers will not only distribute food but also bring joy to local children with toys and gifts. Initially focused on rough sleepers, the charity's mission has evolved to support anyone in need, including those with homes but struggling financially. "We see young people sofa surfing, elderly individuals feeling lonely, and single parents struggling to make ends meet."
With donations from local shops, supermarkets, and individuals, the charity feeds around 200 people daily. On Christmas Day, they'll continue their mission until the last Christmas dinner is served.
